Meet Nadia

Octobre 24, 2017 in

Nadia is a super extroverted girl from Montreal. She is very active and loves to try new things, such as outdoor sports or photography. She has traveled to 27 countries and is in love with European culture. Her goal is to speak Spanish fluently to be trilingual.

Why did you come to Madrid and how long?

I came to Madrid 4 weeks and unfortunately, my time to return home is fast approaching.I've always wanted to learn Spanish in a country where the locals speak this language in order to put myself through a full immersion lifestyle on a daily basis. Not only each day, but also all day. When searching on the internet for a school AIL Madrid really stood out as it had a lot of amazing reviews and it is a local business that specializes in the Spanish language. This way, the administration gives each student a lot of attention and help us during our stay in Spain in whatever way possible.

Which program did you choose? Why?

I chose to partake in the Full Immersion program. Since I am in Madrid for 4 weeks for this specific goal, I wanted to take full advantage of my time here. Time flies during the classes since they are made very interesting and interactive between other students and the teachers. There isn't a second of boredom. I am very satisfied with my choice of programs.

Did you book an accommodation with AIL Madrid? Which type?

I asked to be placed with a Spanish family. Living with a local family is one of the best ways to practice a language to ensure that not only am I being taught at school, but I am also practicing Spanish before and after school in a very informal setting. We have dinner together with the family and talk about our days. Especially for those spending a lengthy period of time abroad and who may miss their families, this is a great way to feel at home.

What do you think about AIL Madrid Spanish school?

I learned so much in such little time. All the teachers are very nice and you can tell that they genuinely care that we leave feeling fully satisfied. The staff prepare activities and outings for us each day. Whether it be an educational tour of a neighborhood, visiting a museum, workshops, fiesta nights, the pool on a hot day and much more.

What did you like the most of this school?

What I loved the most is the concept of the small learning groups. This allowed teachers to really take the time necessary to get to know each of their students. In addition, we have more opportunities to ask questions and practice not only the grammar but also practicing conversational skills.

Do you think you have improved your Spanish level with this course?

Of course. Before arriving 4 weeks ago, I spoke really slow and often with a lot of hesitation. But now ever since I have been here and getting a full integration experience I feel much more comfortable speaking, I can understand people better than before and now I even find myself sometimes thinking in Spanish instead of my mother tongue!

Would you recommend AIL Madrid?

I recommend to everyone who wants to improve their Spanish speaking skills to come study at AIL Madrid. I had a great experience with this school. And after reading all the reviews you can see that I'm not alone in thinking this. I almost didn't go to Madrid for fear of traveling to a country for so little time to learn a language but I quickly realized that each and every week I learned so much. This experience has been very useful to me.

Would you like to try AIL Málaga, AIL Madrid’s younger sister?

I love that AIL will have another location. Based on my testimony, I have a lot of confidence in this brand and I would like to try it in Malaga as well.

Would you like to come back to AIL Madrid in the future? Why?

For me the hardest part is leaving! I formed great friendships with other students and also great relations with the staff. I have just finished level B1 and if I have the opportunity again I will definitely come back to Madrid to do level B2 with this school.

La Catrina: Mexico's grande dame of death

Février 02, 2019 in
In many years of traveling to Mexico I've often encountered a tall, elegantly attired female skeleton sporting an extravagantly plumed hat — in books, in cartoons, on posters, in figures and in the works of some of Mexico's greatest artists. I gradually realized that she is not just one among…
